If you can't win the world cup with Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and maybe Mexico/Uruguay knocked out also the Dutch and Italy not qualifying and getting an easier route through the knock outs then you're probably never going to get a better chance.

I don't think our tactics helped. I've never been a fan of playing 3 (or 5 as it normally turns out) at the back.
I know many think that Southgate is some sort of god, but he's got a long way to go to convince me.

We're not that good, that's why we're out. We've acted with a great deal more restraint and dignity, and Southgate in particular has come across as decent and likeable. Football wise though, little has altered. We have been unable to take advantage of a once in a lifetime set of circumstances.

The answer is obvious and it’s that England do not have any, at all, of the several extra special players a nation needs to be regularly competing at the end of tournaments.
Let’s hope Southgate can unearth one or two for the future.

Players knackered
Fundamentally not good enough
Apart from that done well with what we had and positive for the future.

If that headline seeking Kane had passed to Sterling instead of going for the golden boot we would have gone 2-0 up and most likely have progressed to the final.

Same old England. Still playing kick and rush. No one in the middle who can control the ball and dictate the pace of the game. Which brings me to the main reason we’re out.
Dele Ali. Too much loyalty shown to a player who hasn’t been at the races all year.!
That kind of loyalty will eventually cost Southgate his job.

We are the only top 10 country that hasn't got a World class player that can change a game and create something out of nothing.
Portugal have Ronaldo, Argentina have Messi, Croatia have Modric, Brazil have Neymar, Belgium have De Bruyne & Hazard, France have Mbappe etc.
Even Wales have Bale which means as long as they are organised and solid then they have a chance as shown 2 years ago in the Euros.
